Altec Engineering is proud to introduce their new website launched in November 2005, designed by Azure Graphic & Web Design.
Altec have evolved into a company who supply a diverse range of engineering solutions to a wide range of customers, covering many different industries. Through continual improvement Altec have developed an experienced and skilled team who can supply a single source service to our customers.
The website offers information on the diverse range of standard engineering and bespoke consultancy services Altec offers their Client's, this can be viewed in our products and services section. To demonstrate our success we have included a testimonial section which outlines some of the diverse projects undertaken.

At the start of 2005 Mike Crabtree, Managing Director of Altec Engineering Ltd retired and David Steel previously Technical Director took over the role, this allowed Nick Batey to be promoted to Technical Manager and take responsibility for the Design Department.
It was realised the need to be pro-active in the market place and with this in mind Chris Waite previously the Production Director was moved to Business Development Director with the task to sell Altec to existing customers and find new customers.
Marie Baldwin has been employed as Financial Accountant and Paul Lackenby as Sales Agent.
The Government's 2003 Energy White paper aims to generate 10% of UK electricity from renewable energy sources by 2010.
The New and Renewable Energy Group at the School of Engineering (NAREG) has built the largest linear electrical generator of this new technology ever built in the UK and it is one of the most advanced machines of its kind in the world.
The NaREC Group has designed and built the linear generator which has now linked to the prime mover built by Altec Engineering Ltd of Bowburn in Durham.
The whole test rig and cradle, which is eight metres long, weighs seven tonnes has now been assembled at Altec Engineering ltd and will be shipped to the EnergyLINK Laboratory within the Charles Parsons Technology Centre at NaREC in Blyth where it will be dry tested for six months.
The test rig is capable of replicating wave energy motion using computerised simulation programmes developed by the Group and it is also capable of recovering electrical energy through the power converter designed and built at Durham University.
